The Council has a 365-day, 24-hour standby service under which emergency repairs can be carried out.
We are keen to get feedback on satisfaction levels for all repairs, and a Satisfaction Card is given out when all Cyclical repairs are completed, comments can be made on this card. You can make a complaint to any Local Office and your complaint will be investigated.

Under the Citizen's Charter introduced by the Government in 1994, all council's must make sure that certain small urgent repairs, up to £250 in value, are done if they are likely to affect your health, safety or security.
The Council will help older people or people with disabilities if they don't have an able bodied person living with them. Apply at your Local Office.
You need to apply before April each year. The work will be carried out between October of the same year and the next April. If you do qualify, you can apply for help every year.

Yes, the Housing Department works closely with the Occupational Therapy Department in Social Services in adapting its properties. If you need aids or adaptations you can contact them direct. You will then be contacted to arrange for an Occupational Therapist to visit you to assess your needs and advise you on what aids or adaptations you can have.
