What information do I have to give?

Give as much detail about the repair you want so your repair can be prioritised, and give an idea of when you will be at home for an inspection or repair.

When will the repair be done?

It depends on the nature of the repair. The Council has 3 job priority classes:

What priority is my repair?

A Customer Services Advisor can tell you. As a guide, all gas leaks, defects in mains electricity supply, blocked toilets and repair of broken front doors and ground floor windows will normally be emergency jobs, and urgent jobs include repairs to an underground water pipe.

Do you have to inspect the property before doing the repair?

Not always. Some repairs can be arranged without an inspection, but some serious repairs may need to be inspected during working hours.

Can the inspector or workmen call at the weekend or in the evening?

Not at the moment, but the Council is reviewing this. Some repairs carried out by council contractors can be done on a Saturday.
