Autumn events at Thurrock libraries

Monday 21 October 2024, 10am to Thursday 31 October 2024, 4pm

Thurrock libaries have organised a range of storytime, craft and autumn celebration events for the last 2 weeks of October. These events are ideal for primary school-aged children. Parents and carers must stay with their children during the event.

Most events are free, but where there is a small booking charge this is non-refundable

Monday 21 October
Autumn scavenger hunt

Chadwell library.
10am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm.
An alternative to trick or treating. Collect all the picture tokens for a sticker or a treat. Bring a bag or a basket to collect the tokens in.
Free.

Wednesday 23 October
Spooky story time and creepy craft

Tilbury library.
2:30pm to 3:30pm.
Free.

Thursday 24 October
Spooky story corner – things that go bump in the book

Chadwell library.
2pm to 3pm.
Story and pumpkin craft.
Free.

Spooky slime making workshop

Grays library.
10:30am to 11:30am and 3pm to 4pm.
Learn how to make your own slime from scratch. Decorate a container to take your slime home in, and earn your own slime-making certificate. For ages 4 years-old and over.
£4 per child.

Tuesday 29 October
Spooky science and crafts

Chadwell library.
2:30pm to 4pm.
Making potato clocks, slime-making with googly eyes, and making mini ghosts. For ages 7 years-old and over. Booking is essential as spaces limited.
£2 per child.

Wednesday 30 October
Not-so-spooky stories and scribbles

Grays library.
10:30am to 11am and 3:30pm to 4pm.
A Halloween-themed story time with not-so-spooky tales read aloud followed by spooky colouring. For ages 4 years-old and over.
Free.

Thursday 31 October
Creative Club Halloween edition

Grays library.
10:30am to 11:30am and 3pm to 4pm.
Join in the Halloween fun! Get creative making a paper pumpkin, a paper-plate witch and a cotton wool ghost. Each child will be receive a spooky treat to take home. Booking essential.
£2 per child.

Monster storytime – including make your own monster puppet

Blackshots library.
