What's on in Thurrock

Thameside Young Producers (TYP) are proud to bring you their first showcase, which comprises all their own performances.

The group comprises of 45 very talented young people who study at local theatre schools during the week and have the full support from their principals to join TYP.

The group was formed 11 years ago to teach backstage theatre skills as part of the national Young Producer project. It has seen members go onto study their craft at colleges and universities, enabling them to work professionally in the industry. The national project finished after a year but due to the dedication of Franki McEwen and Becky Malley, supported by the continuing belief in its value from Thameside Theatre management, it has evolved into a self-funded group that is seen as the youth division of the theatre.

Over the past 11 years the group has produced 24 shows and events, bringing hundreds of talented young people to the Thameside Theatre stage and outside venues. It has received a commendation from Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber for continuing the project, offering wonderful opportunities and raising thousands of pounds for local good causes.

Under the guidance of Franki, Becky, Elisabeth Moss and Charlotte Pogose they have produced a show consisting just of their own work performed by the TYP Performance Teams. Thameside Young Producers, it's time to 'Take Your Places'.

This show runs for 2 hours, plus a 20-minute interval. Doors open at 6pm.
