Thurrock Council’s Inspire Employability and Skills Service recently hosted the 2025 Thurrock Apprenticeship and Jobs Fair at the Thameside Theatre.
The free event, which took place on Tuesday 11 February, was held in partnership with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and welcomed over 500 residents of all ages who were seeking new career paths or apprenticeship opportunities.
A significant number of employers, both national and local, were present with stands at the event to speak directly with attendees about job and apprenticeship vacancies across a wide range of industries.
Cllr Lee Watson, Cabinet Member for Good Growth, said:
"The Apprenticeship and Jobs Fair was a fantastic opportunity to showcase some of the amazing job opportunities available here in Thurrock. We know that finding career opportunities can sometimes feel daunting, but this event allowed residents of all ages to meet with employers from a wide range of industries and discover the many career pathways open to them.
"If you didn't manage to make it down to the Fair, or would like some extra support with career guidance, I would really recommend booking in at one of our Inspire Hubs."
Cllr Vikki Hartstean, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, added:
"It can be difficult to know where to start when deciding your next steps after school or college. The Apprenticeship and Jobs Fair has hopefully helped to reassure some of the young people in our borough that there is a wealth of career routes out there.
"This event provided our students, school leavers and older residents with a chance to speak directly with industry experts and receive valuable advice on job and training opportunities."
