Parents and carers in Thurrock can access feeding support for their baby 7 days-a-week.
Expert infant feeding advice is now available from Monday to Sunday, 9am to 5pm.
Support is available for all aspects of feeding your baby, whether help is needed with breastfeeding, formula feeding, or introducing solid foods.
Parents and carers can get in touch with an infant feeding specialist by sending a message to Thurrock Infant Feeding Team via Facebook: Brighter Futures Healthy Families or by phoning 0300 300 1999.
The Thurrock Infant Feeding Team also offer a number of other services, including:
- infant feeding clinics – available Monday to Friday, offering face-to-face consultations on all matters related to infant feeding
- introduction to solid food workshops – available monthly, both online via Microsoft Teams and in-person at Family Hubs
- child health clinics – drop-in sessions for more infant feeding advice
Cllr Vikki Hartstean, Cabinet member for Children's Services, said: "The expanded service ensures that parents in Thurrock can receive help and advice on infant feeding when they need it most, including weekends.
"This reflects our ongoing commitment to the well-being of families in Thurrock. We are here to help you every step of the way."
Thurrock Infant Feeding team is part of the Thurrock Healthy Families Service, Thurrock family hubs and the Start for Life programme.
