The Chadwell community has been able to enjoy a local breakfast club thanks to the voluntary efforts of one local resident.
Sharon, from Chadwell, voluntarily runs a local breakfast club at the Chadwell Community Room on Godman Road, to give residents a place to eat and socialise at a low cost in the mornings.
The breakfast club started in 2019 before taking a pause during the COVID-19 pandemic and relaunching in 2022.
Sharon said: "I have lived in the high-rise tower blocks in Chadwell for quite some time. I wanted to do something to help my community and after hearing children say they were going to school hungry, or that people didn't have time to make breakfast in the morning, creating a breakfast club seemed like the perfect solution.
"I love running the breakfast club as it has been great to see people from all over the borough coming together to socialise and enjoy food and drink which is affordable for all.
"I feel so proud of what we have achieved. I would say running the group has given me something to focus on and helped to really improve my mental health.
"Anyone is welcome to come along to the breakfast club. I would really encourage everyone to come in for a chat, collect a free tea and enjoy the cosy warm space we have on offer."
The Breakfast Club is open Monday to Friday, 8.00am - 10.30am, at Chadwell Community Room, George Tilbury House, Godman Road, RM16 4TF
