1) The Borough Council of Thurrock, in exercise of their powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other powers, has made an Order the effect of which is to:

• prohibit any vehicles from travelling along Arterial Road, West Thurrock between its roundabouts West Thurrock Way and B186 Pilgrims Lane in accordance with Schedule One to the Order
• prohibit any vehicle from Parking during the Times of the Order along the lay-by on the westbound carriageway of Arterial Road

2) The purpose of the Order is to enable Thurrock Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing.

3) In this Order the lay-by on the westbound carriageway is defined as the lay-by approximately 472m east of the junction West Thurrock Way roundabout for a distance of approximately 112m in an east direction

4) The alternative route for eastbound vehicles will be Arterial Road Roundabout A1306, B186 West Thurrock Way south eastbound, Lancaster Roundabout, A126 northbound, off slip to Lakeside Central Roundabout, Fenner Road northbound, Fenner Road Roundabout, B186 Burghley Road eastbound, and vice versa for westbound vehicles.

5) The Order will come into force on Monday 24 June 2024 at 10pm. Works are currently scheduled to take place over 3 nights, between the hours of 10pm and 5am. Exact dates will be specified on https://one.network/?tmi=GB31508393

It only applies to those days and times when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

6) It is expected that the works will be completed within the above times, however the Order will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner.

7) If the works are not completed within 18 months, the Order may be extended for a longer period with the approval of the Secretary of State.
