Temporary Prohibition or Restriction of Traffic
The Borough of Thurrock (Zone H, Grays) (20mph Zone)
1) Notice is hereby given that Thurrock Borough Council, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 1, 2, 4, 84 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the 1984 Act”) and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act, hereby gives notice that they have made the above order on the 27th February 2025, the order will come in to force on the 20th March 2025.
2) The general effect of the Order would be to introduce 20mph Zone at the location(s) specified below: -
- Alfred Street, for its entire length
- Arthur Street, for its entire length
- Bond Street, Southern arm from Church Street north to the bollards/restriction
- Charles Street, for its entire length
- Church Street, for its entire length
- Doug Siddons Close, for its entire length
- Elm Road, for its entire length
- Gipsy Lane, for its entire length
- Grove Road, for its entire length
- John street, for its entire length
- Manor Road, Manor Road – from the junction with Gipsy Lane/ Maple Road eastwards to a point 7m east of the eastern property boundary of No.47 Manor Road
- Maple Road, for its entire length
- Oak Road, for its entire length
- Percy Street, for its entire length
- William Street, for its entire length
- Wood Street, Southern arm from Church Street north to the southern property wall of 18 Broadway
3) A copy of the Made Order together with the plans can be viewed on Thurrock Council’s website at thurrock.gov.uk/publicnotices. Alternatively, the proposals can be viewed by appointment during normal office hours (Monday-Friday, 9am-4pm) by contacting the Transport Delivery Team via troconsultations@thurrock.gov.uk. 4) Any person wishing to object to the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the 1984 Act, or that any requirements of the Act has not been complied with, may, within 6 weeks from the date of on which the order is made apply for the purpose to the High Court.
