Traffic Regulation Order (TRO)

Electric Vehicle Parking Places, amendment to Off-street Parking Places

1) Notice is hereby given that Thurrock Borough Council, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 1, 2, 4, 32, 33, 35, 45 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the 1984 Act") and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act, hereby gives notice that they have made the above order on 30 May 2024, the order will come in to force on 20 June 2024.

2) The general effect of the Order would be:

a) to revoke The Borough of Thurrock, (Off-Street Parking Places) (Amendment No.2) Order 2012

b) to designate Off-Street recharging points for electric vehicles at the following locations:
i. Argent Street Car Park, Grays (2 Bays)
ii. Canterbury Road Car Park, South Ockendon (2 Bays)
iii. Gordon Road Car Park, Corringham (10 Bays)
iv. Princess Margaret Car Park, East Tilbury (10 Bays)
v. Thames Road Car Park, Grays (10 Bays)

3) This Order is to be read in conjunction with any other orders pertaining to the off-street parking places order in relation to parking restrictions/ operational times and fees.

4) A copy of the Made Order together with the plans can be obtained from the Transport Delivery team by phoning 01375 652 652 during normal office hours or alternatively via Thurrock Council's website at thurrock.gov.uk/publicnotices

5) Any person wishing to object to the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the 1984 Act, or that any requirements of the Act has not been complied with, may, within 6 weeks from the date of on which the order is made apply for the purpose to the High Court.
