Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Temporary Prohibition or Restriction of Traffic

Lansdowne Road and Sycamore Close - Tilbury

1) The Borough Council of Thurrock, in exercise of their powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other powers, has made the Order the effect of which is to:

- Prohibit any vehicle from travelling along Lansdowne Road between its junctions with Calcutta Road and Toronto Road.

- Prohibit any vehicle from travelling along Sycamore Close from its junction with Lansdowne Road for a distance of approx 20m in a northerly direction.

- Prohibit any vehicle from parking At All Times along the southen kerb line of Lansdowne Road from a point approx 33m west of Toronto Road for a distance of approx 40m in a westerly direction.

- Prohibit any vehicle from parking At All Times along the northern kerb line of Lansdowne Road from a point approx 12m east of jts junction with Sycamore Close for a distance of approx 20m in an easterly direction.

2) The purpose of the Order is to enable Thurrock to carry out installation of raised tables and highway improvement works.

3) The alternative route for northeast bound vehicles is Calcutta Road, Toronto Road and vice versa for southwest bound. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses at all times.

4) The Order will come into force on the 17th February 2025 at 08:00hrs. Works are currently scheduled to take place daily between 17th February 2025 and 21st February 2025 between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00. Exact dates however will always be specified on https://one.network/?tm=141814614 It only applies to those days and times when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

5) It is expected that the works will be completed within the above times, however the Order will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner 6) If the works are not completed within 18 months, the Order may be extended for a longer period with the approval of the Secretary of State.
