Traffic Regulation Order (TRO)

Speed restriction, Temporary prohibition or restriction on roads

Old Dock Approach Road and Wood View, Grays

1) The Borough Council of Thurrock, in exercise of their powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other powers, has made an Order the effect of which is to:

  • temporarily prohibit any vehicle from exceeding 20mph along Old Dock Approach Road northbound from a point approximately 40m east of its junction with A126 Marshfoot Road for a distance of approximately 892m in a north direction
  • temporarily prohibit any vehicle from exceeding 20mph along Old Dock Approach Road southbound from its junction with Wood View for a distance of approximately 287m in a south direction
  • temporarily prohibit any vehicle from exceeding 20mph along Wood View eastbound from a point approximately 66m east of its junction with Daneholes roundabout for a distance of approximately 320m in an east direction

2) The purpose of the Order is to enable Thurrock Council to carry out an underbridge principal inspection.

3) The Order will come into force on Monday 5 August 2024 at 10am. Works are currently scheduled to take place daily between Monday 5 August and Tuesday 6 August 2024 between the hours of 10am and 3pm. Exact dates will be specified on https://one.network/?tmi=GB32775755

It only applies to those days and times when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

4) It is expected that the works will be completed within the above times, however the Order will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner.

5) If the works are not completed within 18 months, the Order may be extended for a longer period with the approval of the Secretary of State.
