The restoration of Tilbury Riverside Station is part of the Tilbury on Thames Trusts Back on Track project. The document and drawings shared sets out the teams proposals to secure the future of the heritage asset and achieve the aims of the Trust in bringing new life and community activity to the building.
1. Reinstatement of the entrance glazed canopy with new heritage double-glazed patent glazing units, to form new cafe space, generally following the detail of original roof and re-using the existing structure.
2. New glazed screen and door to the Station’s former entrance to create a new cafe.
3. Internal alterations to secondary rooms within the former stations support space to achieve a number of lettable units for creative tenants.
4. Internal alterations to the former ticket office to create a new permanent exhibition area.
5. Modification to existing WCs and creation of new DDA WC and Changing Places facility.
6. External masonry repairs and window replacement with double glazed heritage metal framed windows.
7. Forming two new openings in the Stations rear elevation.
8. New hard and soft-landscaping to external areas surrounding the station and ancillary (TRAAC) building.
9. New vehicle crossover.
