Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Temporary Prohibition or Restriction of Traffic

West Thurrock Way, Weston Avenue, Lake Rise - West Thurrock

1) The Borough Council of Thurrock, in exercise of their powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other powers, intends to make an Order the effect of which is to:

- Prohibit any vehicle from travelling along West Thurrock Way between its junctions with Arterial Road Roundabout and Lancaster Roundabout. Prohibit any vehicles from travelling along Weston Avenue between its junctions with Arterial Road roundabout and Northern Precinct roundabout. Prohibit any vehicle from travelling along Lake Rise between its junctions with West Thurrock Way and Cygnet Way.

2) The purpose of the Order is to enable Thurrock Council to carry out carraigeway resurfacing.

3) The alternative route for westbound vehicles on West Thurrock Way is Lancaster Roundabout, A126 northbound, A13 westbound, off slip from A13 to Mardyke Interchange, Link road to M25 clockwise, Link road to Junction 31, A1306 Arterial Road eastbound, Arterial Road Roundabout, and West Thurrock Way and vice versa for eastbound vehicles. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses at all times. The alternative route for eastbound vehicles on Weston Avenue is Weston Avenue southbound, Eastern Avenue, Motherwell Way and Heron Way and vice versa for westbound vehicles. The alternative route for southwest bound vehicles on Lake Rise is Grebe Crest, West Thurrock Way and vice versa for northeast bound vehicles.

4) The Order will come into force on the 24th February 2025 at 19:00hrs. Works are currently scheduled to take place daily/nightly between 24th February 2025 and 8th March 2025 between the hours of 19:00 and 05:00. Exact dates however will always be specified on https://one.network/?tm=141710168. It only applies to those days and times when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

5) It is expected that the works will be completed within the above times, however the Order will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner 6) If the works are not completed within 18 months, the Order may be extended for a longer period with the approval of the Secretary of State.
