We organise several different types of election.
UK Parliament elections
The next UK Parliament elections will take place on Thursday 4 July 2024.
Within Thurrock, elections will be held for Members of Parliament to serve the Thurrock constituency and the South Basildon and East Thurrock constituency. You can check which constituency covers your address by going to UK Parliament: Constituencies.

Saturday 22 June | Final date for sending ballot papers to residents registered for postal votes. |
Wednesday 26 June | Last day to apply for a proxy vote. Applications must be received by 5pm – go to voting by proxy. |
Wednesday 26 June | Last day to apply for a Voter Authority Certificate. Applications must be received by 5pm – go to GOV.UK: Apply for photo ID. |
Thursday 4 July | Election day. Polling stations open from 7am to 10pm. |

Council elections
Elections for one third of the council took place on Thursday 2 May 2024.
These elections took place in 17 of Thurrock's 20 wards. Voter turn-out totals are shown below.
