Location

The site is situated on the west side of Richmond Road, about 0.33 miles (0.53km) to the northeast of Grays town centre, within a mainly residential area. There are residential dwellings on the north, east and south sides of the site. The west boundary is at a higher level, fronting Bridge Road, with Grays Town Park beyond.

Local retail and leisure facilities are close to the site. Grays town centre has further retail and leisure offers – including a large Morrison store – and is within easy reach. Grays mainline railway station is within walking distance, providing regular train services (c2c rail) into London Fenchurch Street station (journey time about 40 minutes).

Grays is on the north bank of the River Thames, about 20 miles east of central London and 2 miles east of the M25 motorway (Junction 30) and the A13. Lakeside regional shopping centre and retail parks are situated nearby in West Thurrock, to the west of Grays.
